Dotmasters

Rude kids by Leon seesix has long been a shinning bastion for me of what street art best encapsulates. Cheeky, fun, eye catching. Ever since I first saw his prints at an art fair I couldn’t keep the grin off my face. Seeing them out in the wild gives me even more pleasure!

I have crossed paths with Dotmasters for many years and it had been a goal to get his work up on the cities walls. This one took over a year to pull off, as always with this sort of thing, funding buildings, schedules etc very rarely collide easily… but we never stop pushing.

Dotmaster starts by coating the building with a wonderful fluer-de-lis wallpaper design and then adds in ‘dotcopies’ of some famous works in ornate frames and some other internal furnishings for good measure! Then the rude kids take over and add another layer to the visual spectacle.

The play between internal and external building features is visually captivating and, as all good works do, can be viewed from afar but those that investigate see the true level of detail and design as they move around the building, how many times does it actually say Dotmasters on there? Those with a keen eye will find it hard to add up! Another great play between the old school tag and public art. A really fun project that saw so many people come together to make the is epic piece happen.
