Wall #21

Luke Smile: The Bigger Picture

Since meeting up to paint at the Northern paint fest Luke Smile has been on my radar for a permanent wall in the city. This wall had a couple of trees and lots of access issues so although I knew they were keen it just didn’t add up. Fast forwards a couple of years and the two trees had to be removed due to them overhanging the road and the footpath and with the shared access arrangements sorted with the neighbours it turns out that despite there being no road access you can get a 4 ton scissor lift into a small garden area!

This wall is the dream, large flat no windows or doors, the gold standard of street canvas and Like was the man to do it justice. His graphic design background is always on show and the level of detailing shadows letter placement and colour choice always pops. Working with Eden arts as part of the bigger picture  has allowed us to take on some great collaborations so to pay homage to that partnership we have like the title of the project as an awareness piece but also in our typical slanted view of the world, a description of exactly what it is!

By far one of the hardest to organise both logistically and practically but with the right people, the right vision you can achieve and see the bigger picture!

Thanks to Eden Arts, Red Herring Escape Rooms, Pj plant hire and Suspect Packaging.
